Archers should find their lane assignment at check-in and set up to practice in the assigned lane only.

Score Cards

  • Pre-filled prior to Line Hot at 8:00 AM
  • Two sets of score sheets per bale
  • 3–4 archers per bale
  • Two record scores, one calls arrows

Line Commands (Official Shooting)

Before any whistle blasts
All archers behind the shooting line in the archers area

After 2 blasts and “Archers to the Line”
Come to the shooting line. Do not nock arrows. Straddle the shooting line and wait.

After 1 blast and “Line Hot”
Nock an arrow and shoot 5 arrows
4-minute clock

After finishing
Step back behind the shooting line so judges know you are done
If an archer in front or behind you is at full draw, stay at the line until they shoot or let down

After 3 blasts and “Score Arrows”
All archers proceed to the target line (do not cross the target safety line)
Only three scoring teammates may cross the safety line
Watch your arrows being called and confirm scores
After all arrows are scored, arrows may be pulled
Return behind the shooting line and wait for the next command

Repeat sequence.

Arrow and Bow Mishaps

  • If too few arrows are shot, missing arrows are scored as M
  • If too many arrows are shot, the highest score becomes a miss and one point is removed from the next highest arrow
  • If an arrow is shot after time expires, the highest score becomes a miss and one point is removed from the next highest arrow

Dropped Arrows
If not past the shot arrow line, they may be picked up and shot. Ask for help. Do not reach out during shooting.

  • No arrow twirling
  • No sky draws
  • Nocking before Line Hot results in a one-point deduction after one warning

We only have four hours to compete and hand out awards. Please be efficient, quick, and quiet between ends so we finish on time.

Be polite to others. Watch your gear and quiver.
No coaching while archers are at the line.
All spectators must remain at or near the bleachers, not in the archers area.
